Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood launched their Japanese Tour on 17 November in Sapporo, before heading south to Yokohama for a concert on 19 November. Although the first concert was a solid 20-song strong performance, the second night in Yokohama held a big surprise for Japanese fans. During the acoustic set, a re-arranged "Wonderful Tonight" was peformed - believed to be the first time this has happened in concert since the song was released on Slowhand in 1977. One fan in attendance told Where's Eric! that it was an absolutely beautiful version. "Pearly Queen" also made its tour debut in Yokohama, replacing "Midland Maniac".
